Russell Dickerson’s self-titled third album is available now, and as its title would suggest, it’s an especially personal project from the “Love You Like I Used To” star. One especially vulnerable cut is “I Wonder,” a midtempo meditation on the regret and uncertainty that often follow a difficult breakup. The emotional song was inspired by a break Dickerson and his now-wife Kailey Dickerson took while dating. “I went to a Titans game the same day [we broke up],” Dickerson tells Apple Music. “It was not good. I lasted a month [before getting back together]. That's what we tried to capture in the song. It was just like this inner turmoil going on in my head. It was kind of haunting.” This playlist tracks what’s happening from the heart of the country scene to its outer edges. Check back here early and often, and if you hear something you like, add it to your library.
