1070AM is a 50,000-watt Hispanic Top 40 Latin Hits radio station programmed to service 100,000-plus Latinos living in the Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson market coverage area, and more that 1.9 million people in areas surrounding this market. The signal coverage extends to more than nine counties from Asheville, North Carolina to Greenwood, South Carolina, and parts of Tennessee and Georgia!
By day, WCSZ is licensed to broadcast at the maximum power allowed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), 50,000 watts non-directional.[2] But because AM 1070 is a clear-channel frequency reserved for Class A KNX Los Angeles and a now-dark station in Canada, WSCZ must reduce power at night to 1500 watts using a directional antenna to avoid interference. The station's transmitter, a three-tower antenna array, is off West Duncan Road (U.S. Route 25) in Greenville.[3] WCSZ is one of five AM radio stations in South Carolina operating at 50,000 watts by day, the others being WESC in Greenville, WAGL in Lancaster, WBAJ in Blythewood and WCEO in Columbia.
