KAXE/KBXE, Northern Community Radio is an independent, nonprofit organization that operates unique community-based public radio. NCR serves most of north central and northeastern Minnesota with a 100,000-watt signal originating in Grand Rapids at 91.7 FM KAXE and a 50,000-watt signal originating in Bagley/Bemidji at 90.5 FM KBXE. Northern Community Radio also operates translators in Brainerd at 89.9 FM and in Ely at 103.9 FM. Northern Community Radio is a NPR affiliate that carries programs like Morning Edition, All Things Considered, World Cafe and American Routes.
